MeNow is an offshoot of the FOAF project, designed to provide information that is more "current". It uses RDF as the base technology, and the people who work on the project are involved in a number of other projects relating to RDF. We are doing our best to prevent any kind of battle over the "bad" qualities some people typically associate with RDF, while at the same time providing the extensibility neccesary for a project such as this.
